課程思政優秀案例|《管理學導論(英)》 第十一章 領導概論

本次課教學重點:領導性質和作用;領導者和管理者的區别;領導理論的曆史演變; 中國情境下的領導變革理論

 

本次課教學難點:理解不同類型的領導理論

 

價值引領:在領導職能的内容中,通過講述領導理論、領導者的素質與領導藝術,激發學生提高自身領導能力、職業素質,培養自身領導藝術的動機。

 

思政元素:立足國際視野,比較中國企業領導者與西方同行的異同,增進對中國企業家商業智慧的了解,提煉對于中國企業家未來持續創新的啟示與關鍵行動指南,傳播具有中國特色的領導管理實踐,并在管理理論創新領域占有一席之地。

 

本次課教學内容:

Part One: Lead in game- Guess Who?

Students work in groups and come up with the name of a leader you admire(real-life examples from business, politics or acdemia etc). Then try and describe that person to other groups (at least four sentences) and let them have a guess.

 

Part Two:Functions of Leaders

For anyone to lead a team effectively, there are certain functions that need to be undertaken and each requires particular skills in order for them to be executed to a high standard. Some of these functions include:

1.Setting goals

A leader's most important function is to set goals for team members to encourage them to work confidently and enthusiastically. They also then make strategies to achieve those goals.

2.Organizing

A leader's other important function is to organise the group of people into a task which they can perform effectively. They are required to know how to assign the roles to the individuals as per their ability to bring out the best from them.

3.Motivation and direction

Motivating and showing the right direction to the team or the individual is the primary function of the leader. They require to motivate the team members to work towards achieving their goals and guide them when they face difficulties during working in that direction.

Part Four: Evolution of leadership theories

 

4.1 Trait Theories of Leadership

The trait theory of leadership suggests that certain inborn or innate qualities and characteristics make someone a leader. These qualities might be personality factors, physical factors, intelligence factors, and so on.

4.2Behavioral Theories of Leadership

Behavioral leadership theory argues that the success of a leader is based on their behavior rather than their natural attributes. This theory believes that leaders are made, not born. Proponents of this theory suggest that anyone can become an effective leader if they can learn and implement certain behaviors.

4.3 Contingency leadership theories

The contingency theory of leadership supposes that a leader’s effectiveness is contingent on whether or not their leadership style suits a particular situation. To maximize your likelihood of being a productive leader, this theory posits that you should be able to examine each situation and decide if your leadership style is going to be effective or not.

Part Five: Transformational leadership under Chinese context

古(案例1):《諸葛亮“揮淚斬馬谡”:剛柔并濟的領導哲學》

利用該曆史感的案例讓學生回顧中國具有以儒家學說為中心的、儒法道釋兵各展所長的優秀傳統文化。引導學生意識到,諸多先賢對于領導實踐具有精彩的論述。學習傳統文化下的領導思想實踐,傳承優秀中華文化和育人實踐。

今(案例2):《探析海爾制——從模式到範式打造管理新生态》

海爾創始人張瑞敏被譽為中國現代企業元年以來創始領導人的傑出代表。作為一個轉型領導者,他汲取中西方商業實踐的精華,創造了他自己獨特的模式,“兼收并蓄、創新發展、自成一家”。

思政融合點: 本知識點選取的案例遵循着由古到今、由政到商的内在邏輯:縱向涵蓋曆史-現代,體現變革型領導理論的演化發展;橫向涵蓋企業-非企業組織,體現變革型領導的組織影響力。通過認識世界與中國領導理論的發展比較、曆史使命與時代責任的比較、經濟組織與非經濟組織的領導力比較,實現課程思政目标。

 

作業布置:The Glass Ceiling: Women and Barriers to Leadership

In 2011, there were 12 women in the Fortune 500 CEO role (2.4%). Since then, this number rose by 5% to 41 as of 2021. From these statistics, the percentage of women in CEO roles has steadily increased since 2000, albeit slowly.

一份又一份的調研表明,在多數組織中,各級别女性“消失”的數量正在增加。本次課後作業号召學生關注性别平等,關注女性領導者的全球影響。

思政融合點:随着國家發展社會進步,女性性别優勢應該越來越凸顯出來。女性細緻、靈敏、勤奮、踏實、韌勁等優秀品質,将使得企業更具備競争力和具備活力。未來,随着社會不斷進步,女性更加獨立,更加關注自我成長,同時通過不斷學習、提高自我能力,抓住把握住時代機遇,未來不僅是财富管理私人銀行,還是其他行業,都會湧現出來越來越多傑出女性領導者,成為社會發展的重要動力,為國民經濟發展做出突出貢獻。
